Cookie & Local Storage Policy

We keep browser storage minimal and transparent: essential auth tokens, UI preferences, and opt-in analytics.

Why we use storage

Simplance is a web app, so we rely on browser storage to keep you logged in, save your preferences, and analyze product usage. We do not run ads, sell data, or use third-party tracking pixels. Everything stored is private to your Simplance account.

Analytics Controls

We use privacy-focused analytics to understand which features are useful and diagnose bugs. This creates an anonymous tracking preference in your browser, plus optional activity tracking settings. Our analytics are configured to:

  • • Mask all inputs by default and respect the browser's Do Not Track signal.
  • • Disable analytics automatically when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
  • • Avoid cross-site tracking (no third-party cookies, no ad pixels).

You can disable analytics by enabling Do Not Track in your browser settings, or block analytics storage via your browser without losing core functionality.

Managing Browser Storage

Browser controls

  • • Clear browser storage in your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Brave).
  • • Block third-party cookies—Simplance only uses first-party storage, so nothing breaks.
  • • Use private browsing sessions for one-off logins; data clears automatically when the tab closes.

In-app controls

  • • Enable your browser's Do Not Track setting to disable analytics immediately.
  • • Clear your browser's localStorage for simplance.org to reset display preferences and dismissed banners.
  • • Logging out removes all authentication credentials from that device's browser storage (sessions on other devices remain active until expiry).

Browser Privacy Signals

We respect your browser's privacy settings, including Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. When these are enabled, analytics will not run, and only essential storage for authentication and preferences is created. You can also send privacy requests to support@simplance.org if you want us to manually remove any analytics data.
